Ed, like Donna, is also from Cleveland. He was an athlete in high school, and played football. Ed went to work at a steel mill. The Los Angeles Times reported that he would bring his sons to the mill from time-to-time.

He said, “I would take them there, hard hats, safety glasses and boots included.” I’d say, “You could have a mother-like job, or a similar one to mine.”
